3 THINGS TO INCREASE YOUR LIFE ENJOYMENT WITHOUT ANYTHING HAVING TO CHANGE

I never celebrate my successes.

When I graduated from college with honors, I didn’t even want to go to the graduation ceremony. When I reached my desired body, after struggling with a few (but annoying) pounds for two years. When I finally launched my online business, after thinking about it for one year and learning how to do it for another year.

I was like NEXT! It never felt that what I accomplished was that big of a deal.

Now that I’m about to finish my Positive Psychology specialization, it’s really made me reflect on things like gratitude and savoring and how I applied them in my life—which I didn’t.

I want to bring you along this journey so that we can learn to enjoy the wonderful things we already have in our life. Here are 3 different ways to practice savoring and enjoy our life more—without anything having to change.

Stop multi-tasking

Just because we can multi-task, doesn’t mean we should. First, it’s impossible to give our full attention to more that one thing at a time. Multi-tasking is unproductive and it suffocates enjoyment. On the contrary, flow and engagement are highly correlated with happiness. Today I invite you to stop yourself from multi-tasking, at least once, and just enjoy the task you’re doing.

Watch a sunset

Nature has the ability to elicit the most beautiful of emotions: awe, inspiration, love. Just sit outside while the sun goes down and contemplate the beauty of it. We can increase our enjoyment just by paying attention to what’s right in front of us already.

Think about the future

Is there an event in the near future that you can look forward to? Think about it, enjoy the possible different scenarios, think about how it’s going to feel once you’re there. My beautiful friend Ana is getting married in Playa Del Carmen in a couple of weeks and I can’t want! I’m counting the days, I’ve enjoyed picking out my outfits, I imagine how happy her and her fiancée are going to be on their wedding day. Savor future events to be happier in the present.

Over to you: what do you currently do to have more enjoyment and gratitude in your life? Which one of these savoring activities do you want to try?
